IMPORTANCE OF ASSUMING NON-GENETIC & GENETIC CONDITIONS AND THEIR FACTORS IN REGISTERED LINEAGES
Vďaka chovnému stádu Zempléni Hedgies Törpesün Tenyészet by sme Vám radi predstavili náš nový plánovaný Webinár :
IMPORTANCE OF ASSUMING NON-GENETIC & GENETIC CONDITIONS AND THEIR FACTORS IN REGISTERED LINEAGES

Thanks to the Zempléni Hedgies, we would like to present our new planned Webinar :
IMPORTANCE OF ASSUMING NON-GENETIC & GENETIC CONDITIONS AND THEIR FACTORS IN REGISTERED LINEAGES
Are you interested in what are the most common complications in hedgehog lines, how to identify them, classify them and how to proceed further? What different factors affect them?Do you know when it is necessary to eliminate a breeding lineage or an individual hedgehog, and when it is not necessary at all? Do you want to know in which cases hereditary, congenital and developmental defects are most often confused?
Antigone M. Means, Ph.D., will speak this and many other topics on November 19, 2022.
Dr. Means has been breeding hedgehogs and tenrecs with predigree since 1995 as breeding herd named Hedgehog Valley. She was the co-founder of the INTERNATIONAL HEDGEHOG REGISTRY (IHR), which was founded in 1997 to track the line of pet hedgehogs in order to reduce inbreeding and to investigate the behavior and genetics of African pygmy hedgehogs. Thanks to Dr. Means, the IHR contained thousands of records, and in 2002, the well-known IHA (International Hedgehog Association) was created from this database, whose standard was recognized by organizations all over the world. In addition to the founder and registrator of the IHR, Dr. Means was also known as a licensed judge and judge trainer at the IHA Master Judge level and the author of many publications on African pygmy hedgehogs.
After the end of IHA, Dr. Means continued her work by founding the North American Quills Association (NOQA), which builds on the work of the IHA. One of the last projects of this organization was the novelization of the show standard, which has not been updated since the breakup of the IHA.Our highly valued member, judge and instructor Dr. ZEMPLÉNI SZABOLCS also participated in this project. With project mentioned above, Dr. Means cooperates on establishing new collective database The Hedgie List Pedigree Resource (HLPR) that already contains thousands of records and information about hedgehogs and tenrecs.
We will bring you more information about the webinar soon! Are you as excited as we are?
